BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA – Maker’s Mark partners with the Mike Slive Foundation for Prostate Cancer Research.
Maker’s Mark is partnering with the Mike Slive Foundation to raise awareness of and money for prostate cancer research by contributing six limited edition Maker’s Mark bottles. Each bottle will be hand dipped in the prostate cancer blue color wax, instead of the signature Maker’s Mark red wax, and will have the Mike Slive Foundation logo etched on the front.
“We are pleased to partner with the Mike Slive Foundation to help raise awareness of prostate cancer,” said Maker’s Mark Chief Distillery Officer Rob Samuels. “Finding meaningful ways to give back to the community has always been important to Maker’s Mark, and we’re honored to support Commissioner Slive’s legacy in this way.”
The customized bottles will be auctioned during the month of September, which is prostate cancer awareness month, with all funds going to support the mission of the Mike Slive Foundation. More information on how individuals can bid on the bourbon bottles will be available through the Mike Slive Foundation social media in September.
“We are grateful for the partnership with Maker’s Mark and that they believe in our mission at the Foundation. The blue dip Maker’s Mark bottle was an idea that my father and I talked about before he passed away. He would have been so happy to know that we were able to make this dream a reality to raise money for prostate cancer research. We have raised many a glass of Maker’s Mark bourbon to celebrate significant moments in our family,” said Anna Slive Harwood, President of the Mike Slive Foundation.
The Mike Slive Foundation endeavors to become a global leader in the fight to eradicate prostate cancer through public awareness and research funding in memory of Mike Slive, a transformative leader whose vision and direction revolutionized the business of collegiate sports.
