BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA – During the month of November, the Mike Slive Foundation is encouraging everyone to get a little scruffy for the sake of prostate cancer awareness.
Join coaching luminaries and the Foundation board members grow awareness for prostate cancer awareness as they grow out their facial hair in the month of November. Between November 1 and November 30, post a photo of you and your newly grown or existing mustache and tag #StachesForSlive on your social media outlets. For those who follow the Foundation social media pages and tag the Foundation in a post, you will be entered into a random drawing for a VIP experience at the Mike Slive Invitational on December 14, 2019, at Legacy Arena at the BJCC when the Auburn Tigers take on the Saint Louis Billikens. The winner will be announced by December 6th.
Celebrate the halfway point of Staches For Slive with Staches for Slive Day at Cahaba Brewing Company. On November 16 from 1 until 5 p.m., a portion of brew sales will be donated to the Mike Slive Foundation. Face painters will be on site, as well as faux mustaches for those who still want to get in on the fun. Mike Slive Foundation T-shirts will be available to purchase.
“My Dad would have loved seeing us all come together in a fun way for a great cause, helping to create an easy dialogue around prostate cancer,” said Anna Slive Harwood, Executive Director of the Foundation. “Regardless of whether you can grow a full stache or not, there are plenty of ways to get in on the fun. Prostate cancer is a serious topic, with 1 in 9 men who will have prostate cancer in their lifetime, but we will have fun with Staches for Slive and hopefully help save a life at the same time.”
The Mike Slive Foundation endeavors to become a global leader in the fight to eradicate prostate cancer through public awareness and research funding in memory of Mike Slive, a transformative leader whose vision and direction revolutionized the business of collegiate sports.
