Ask Mike Slive to list his various careers – or at least, jobs – and it takes awhile. Before he was one of the most powerful people in college sports as the SEC’s commissioner, he was an attorney. An athletic director. A meat-cutter – a member of the Amalgamated Meat Cutters of North America, Local District 1. He delivered mail at Christmas. He worked construction during college. And then he was commissioner of three different college conferences before retiring in 2015.
