2023 Blue Shoe Ball Honoree

Please join us as we honor Thomas H. Brigham, Jr. (Tommy) at our 2023 Blue Shoe Ball. As Chairman and Founding Partner of ARC Realty, Tommy was recognized by the Birmingham Business Journal as one of the Top Birmingham’s Most Influential Executives, and by AL.com’s The Birmingham News as part of the Gang of 7 as the 7th most influential people in the State of Alabama in sports. He was instrumental in the creation of the Mike Slive Foundation, the first and only dedicated prostate cancer nonprofit organization in the Southeast. His leadership and expertise has continued to guide the Foundation’s exponential growth.

Prostate Cancer by the Numbers

Early detection and education can dramatically change the outcome of this pervasive disease that affects one in nine men.
Prostate cancer is the 2nd most common form of cancer among men and the 2nd most common form of cancer related death among men.
This year alone, over 268,000 men will develop prostate cancer, and the disease will claim over 34,500 lives.
A man dies of prostate cancer every 15 minutes. That over 85 deaths per day and 34,000 this year.
Black men are nearly 80% more likely to develop prostate cancer than white men, and are more than twice as likely to die from the disease.
Currently there are nearly 3.1 million men in America living with prostate cancer.
